Panagiota Kapogianni
Born in Drama, Greece
Panagiota Kapogianni is a Greek contemporary artist whose work explores identity, humanity, mythology, and peace through a distinctly Mediterranean visual language. Born in Drama, Greece, and later based in Berlin, her artistic journey began through photography before evolving into painting, where she developed a deeply symbolic style shaped by Greek antiquity, Byzantine influence, and modern human experience.
Her paintings are recognized for their expressive faces, strong frontal figures, vivid colors, and poetic compositions that blend timeless archetypes with contemporary emotion. Drawing inspiration from themes of love, memory, spirituality, human connection, and cultural coexistence, her work often carries subtle social commentary while maintaining a sense of optimism and inner harmony.
Kapogianni’s art has been exhibited internationally, including exhibitions in Germany and China, and was featured in connection with the Athens 2004 Olympic spirit through her series “Olympic Pictures of Peace.” Her visual world combines traditional Greek artistic heritage with modern symbolic expression, creating works that feel both ancient and deeply personal.
